Collaborate, create and perform immersive stories with creators around the globe, and interact with viewers in real time.
Imagine a revolutionary social app with purpose, where every post is a fictional Scene in a detailed narrative. Follow rich stories with complex characters, told in bite size Scenes for our fast-paced world. Comment on the plot live, interact globally with other viewers and relatable characters, and sometimes even shape the story.
Imagine creators collaborating to produce and perform together, free from outdated production and commissioning models, earning directly from their own stories. They will be able to embody multiple characters in multiple stories and use live digital tools to craft costumes, props, and fantastical worlds.
Inspired by storytelling innovators and research on cognitive psychology, social storytelling and performing arts - where lasting change and wellbeing is built through involvement - we're building a safe, meaningful platform that removes the financial, demographic, and geographic barriers to the entertainment industry, promotes wellbeing, and equips everyone with the tools to succeed at social storytelling.
Plus, we're ditching addictive design tricks: no biased algorithms, auto-play, targeted ads, competitive metrics, or constant notifications that drag you back.
From struggling writers to young artists in remote villages finding their outlet, everyone will join in because they genuinely love being free to tell compelling stories with diverse voices.
That's precisely what we are working to create right now! We've already got our prototype ready.
And now we’re testing, designing, telling stories and building a creative community to tell stories together and shape every part of our innovative digital theatre platform. As a small, ambitious start-up, we value your unique skills and experiences to help us grow.
Our users play a central role, from influencing design and tech decisions to commissioning stories and creating the content they love. We’re welcoming people from all backgrounds with interests in areas like communications, marketing, acting, animation, sound, storytelling, writing, and production.
As a founding member, you’ll help design and experience real-time performances through our app, contribute to exciting projects across genres, and explore real-world themes like mental health and diversity. You can join ongoing work or pitch your own ideas—we’ll support you in developing them for our format.
If you're excited about co-creating something new, impactful, and collaborative, we’d love to have you on board.
If you like the concept and you're in the market for investment, or you'd just like to see how this might stack up as a business, please check out our Pitch Deck too.
Scenes will be a new kind of storytelling app; a “digital theatre platform.” Stories will be told through a series of small posts called “scenes,” shared over time by accounts that represent fictional characters, not real people. You'll follow along in a simple chronological feed, like watching a play unfold post by post, or reading a book one page at a time.
On social media, an algorithm decides what you see and in what order, usually to keep you scrolling as long as possible. On Scenes, there will be no algorithm. Stories will appear in the order they happen, and nothing will be hidden or reshuffled to manipulate your attention. Also, unlike streaming, you won't pay a subscription for access to everything, whether you watch it or not. You'll buy a ticket for the specific stories you want to watch, like buying a ticket to a play. Plus, the streaming giants gatekeep their commissioning, but on Scenes, people will be able to tell the stories they want to tell.
No. Viewers will be able to create a free account and buy tickets to individual stories with no subscription required. Creators will be able to create a set number of stories a year for free. Paid membership tiers will exist too, and will unlock extra things for viewers, like commenting on scenes, having a say in which new stories get made, removing adverts, and for creators, like more space for storytelling and digital production tools that use augmented reality (AR) to create virtual sets, costumes, and props. But these subscription tiers will be optional.
Both. You'll be able to comment directly on scenes and ask characters questions as the story unfolds. Some stories will let viewers vote or weigh in on plot decisions. And before a show is even made, some viewers will be able to give feedback on early ideas and pitches from creators, helping shape what gets produced in the first place.
Yes, accessibility features like voice-over, subtitles, audio descriptions, and haptic feedback will be built into the app from the start, not added on later.
Very little. We'll only collect the minimum needed to create and run your account. We won't use your data to target ads or manipulate what you see, and any advertising shown will be associated with the context of the story you're watching rather than based on tracking you.
Every show will be ticketed. Creators will keep 50% of ticket sales from their own shows and will set their own prices, starting from as little as £0.50 and rising to as much as the creator wants to charge. On top of that, half of all platform-wide subscription and advertising income will be pooled and split equally between every active creator on the platform, regardless of how big or popular their show is.
It's a deliberate choice. We want creators collaborating with each other rather than competing for attention, and we want newer or smaller creators to be able to build a sustainable income while they grow an audience, rather than a system where only the biggest names earn anything meaningful. Creators will still be motivated to make more shows and improve their craft, because that will grow their own ticket earnings on top of the shared pool.
Funds raised will go toward finishing development of the platform, including stabilisation, scaling, the AR production tools, and the accessibility features, as well as bringing on our first wave of creators, and getting our launch productions ready to go live.
We are not in this to be the next Zuck or Musk. We are developing this platform to give you, the creators, a real chance of earning a living wage directly from your own stories. Scenes will keep 50% of ticket sales, 50% of subscription income, and 50% of advertising revenue platform-wide (the other halves go to creators, as above). We'll also offer paid consultancy services to creators who want extra help producing their shows.
Creators will be able to tell the stories they want to on Scenes, so in the long term, the platform will host stories of all kinds. Feathretree Arts, our production company, is preparing stories for the platform launch. These will be lower-fidelity, “found footage”-style, which are quicker and cheaper to produce, easier for new creators to get started with, and well suited to watching on a phone. Our launch slate will span horror, comedy, and drama, in both short and long-form stories.
Alongside this, we're already developing two ambitious flagship productions, The NoW (Sci-Fi) and The Unbinding (Fantasy), which are epic stories designed to show what Scenes can do at full scale once the platform is fully built out. We're deliberately holding these back from an early launch: we want the AR production tools finished first, and we want an audience already engaged with earlier, smaller-scale stories, so that these flagship shows land with the impact they deserve rather than launching into an empty platform. As the platform and creator base mature, we expect more of this higher-production-value work to follow.

Both. We're building an early creator base that includes fanfiction writers, independent filmmakers, theatre performers, and professionals from film and TV- essentially, anyone with a story to tell. Our first 50 approved creators (“The Founding 50”) will be selected through an application process based on the strength of their ideas, not just who signs up first, and will receive free lifetime top-tier membership. But as the platform grows, anyone will be able to tell any stories, bringing their own audiences.
